NDLEA Intercepts Tramadol Concealed in Black Soap Containers Bound for UK
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted a consignment of tramadol pills concealed inside containers of black soap and allegedly destined for the United Kingdom.
The drugs were discovered by NDLEA operatives during a routine interdiction operation in Lagos, according to the agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi.
Babafemi disclosed the seizure in a narco trend update shared on Sunday, while warning Nigerians against accepting parcels, luggage or packages from other people without first verifying their contents.
He said the intercepted tramadol had been deliberately hidden inside black soap containers in an attempt to evade detection and transport the drugs to the UK.
The NDLEA spokesperson urged members of the public to be cautious, warning that unsuspecting individuals could unknowingly become involved in drug trafficking by accepting or transporting packages for others.
The agency has continued to intensify efforts to intercept illicit drugs being trafficked through Nigeria’s airports, courier networks and other channels.
