NSCDC Honours Outstanding Officers in Anambra, Warns Against Dereliction of Duty
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Anambra State Command, has honoured its best performing officers, reaffirming its commitment to professionalism, discipline and improved service delivery across the state.
The awards were presented during the Command’s weekly tactical digest meeting, where senior officers reviewed the security situation and adopted fresh strategies to sustain peace and protect critical national assets.
State Commandant, Maku Olatunde, announced Assistant Commandant of Corps (ACC) Ochie Paul, Head of the Solid Minerals and Development Unit, as the overall best performing officer in the Command’s recent capacity assessment exercise.
He said the recognition was aimed at rewarding excellence, encouraging healthy competition and motivating officers to maintain high professional standards in the discharge of their duties.
Commandant Olatunde charged officers and personnel to remain committed to intelligence gathering, effective report writing and the protection of critical national, state and local government infrastructure, describing them as essential to the Corps’ operational success.
He also warned against misconduct, illegal assignments and dereliction of duty, stressing that any officer found culpable would face severe disciplinary action.
The assessment exercise, which tested officers on tactical operations, security deliverables and the protection of critical infrastructure, involved Heads of Departments, Heads of Units, Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Heads of Formations and Composite Commanders.
Commending participants for their dedication, the State Commandant reiterated the Corps’ resolve to strengthen professionalism through continuous training, capacity building and performance based recognition.
The latest initiative reflects the NSCDC’s determination to enhance operational efficiency and maintain a highly motivated workforce capable of responding effectively to emerging security challenges in Anambra State.
