Soludo Sets Strategic Direction for Future Road Constructions in Anambra

By Emmanuel Chigbata

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, says future road construction across the state will be guided by strategic considerations, including economic importance, traffic volume, construction cost and the ability of roads to open up communities for development.

Governor Soludo stated this during a grand reception organised by the people of Awgbu in Orumba North Local Government Area in honour of the immediate past Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Ernest Ezeajughi.

The Governor said his administration would prioritise roads that can stimulate economic activities, improve connectivity and unlock the development potential of communities across the state.

He also disclosed that Awgbu would have a role in the proposed Aerotropolis development, assuring the people that the community would be captured in the state’s broader development agenda.

Soludo commended Chief Ezeajughi for his contributions to the administration, describing him as a man who served with dexterity and uniqueness.

He said Ezeajughi’s exceptional qualities would continue to take him to greater heights globally, while thanking the people of Awgbu for honouring their son and urging them to continue supporting the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in the forthcoming election.

The Convener of Awgbu Progressive Minds, Mr Emeka Owoh, described the reception as the first of its kind in the community for an indigene who served in public office, saying Ezeajughi’s integrity, transparency and sense of direction made the celebration significant.

He said the event was not only about honouring Ezeajughi but also about teaching younger generations the value of selfless public service.

The Mayor of Orumba North Local Government Area, Barrister Casmir Nwafor, described Ezeajughi as a worthy example for others in public office, stressing that he served without scandals.

Responding, Chief Ernest Ezeajughi thanked the people of Awgbu for remembering and honouring him, saying his proximity to Governor Soludo provided opportunities for him to attract development projects to his community.

The event attracted members of the Anambra State Executive Council, politicians and a large crowd from Awgbu and beyond, while various cultural groups added colour to the celebration.

Among those present were Dr Ebuka Onunkwo and Dr Odiraa Nwankwo, APGA candidate for Orumba North and South Federal Constituency, who was represented by Dr Joe Akabuike.
