Man Arrested for Allegedly Dumping Woman’s Body in Ajah Canal

The Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation into the alleged murder of a woman whose body was found in a canal in the Ajah area of the state.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adebisi Abimbola, the suspect was apprehended on July 14 while allegedly attempting to dump the body of the yet to be identified woman into a canal along Monastery Road, Mopo, Ajah, following a tip off received by security personnel.

The Divisional Police Officer immediately deployed officers to the scene, where the suspect was taken into police custody. The victim’s body was recovered and deposited at the General Hospital Mortuary, Yaba, for autopsy and preservation.

The Police said the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Yaba, for further investigation, while the suspect remains in custody.

Authorities have assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
