New Zobis Industrial City to Create Over 15,000 Jobs in Anambra
Anambra State is set for another major industrial breakthrough as Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has received the Chairman of Zobis Cable Industries, Mr. John Ezeobi, who unveiled plans for the proposed Zobis Industrial City, a large scale industrial and commercial development expected to transform the state’s manufacturing sector.
The proposed industrial city will occupy about 94 hectares of land across Okoti, Odekpe and Ogbaru. It will house more than 15 industrial and commercial facilities, including cable and copper manufacturing plants, PVC and switchgear factories, a research and development institute, residential quarters, warehouses and modern logistics infrastructure.
Speaking during the presentation, Mr. Ezeobi said the project is designed to strengthen local manufacturing, reduce dependence on imported products, promote innovation and position Anambra as a leading industrial hub in West Africa.
The first phase of the project is projected to create over 15,000 direct jobs, providing employment opportunities for thousands of young people while boosting the state’s economy and advancing Governor Soludo’s industrialisation agenda.
The initiative further reflects the growing confidence of private investors in Anambra and underscores the state government’s commitment to building strategic partnerships that drive sustainable development, economic growth and shared prosperity for Ndi Anambra.
