ANSACA Deepens Grassroots HIV Response, Takes Free Health Services to Oraukwu
By Chukwuemeka Modilim
The Anambra State AIDS Control Agency, ANSACA, has taken its grassroots HIV response to Oraukwu in Idemili North Local Government Area, offering residents free HIV testing and other essential health services.
The September 3 outreach, organised in partnership with Chukwunenye Mmuoduba and Michael Don Investment Ltd, provided residents with confidential HIV counselling and testing, hepatitis screening, tuberculosis symptom checks, blood pressure checks and health education.

The exercise is part of ANSACA’s intensified community based HIV response aimed at bringing essential preventive and health services closer to residents, while promoting early testing, prevention, timely referral and linkage to care.
The agency encouraged Ndi Oraukwu and other residents across Anambra to take advantage of available testing opportunities, know their HIV status and make informed decisions about their health.

ANSACA said strengthening healthcare delivery at the grassroots remains critical to ensuring that no community is left behind in the state’s efforts to prevent new HIV infections and improve access to care.
