Police Arrest Woman for Allegedly Stabbing Husband to Death in Abia

The Abia State Police Command has arrested a woman, Mrs Sara Innocent, for allegedly stabbing her husband, Innocent Nwaoji, to death during a domestic dispute in Umuokereke Ngwa, Obingwa Local Government Area of the state.

The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday, August 8, 2026, with the Police Public Relations Officer, Maureen Chinaka, saying the suspect allegedly stabbed her husband in the chest with a kitchen knife during an argument.

The victim was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead by a medical doctor, while his remains were deposited at a morgue for autopsy.

The Police said the suspect is currently in custody and that the scene of the incident has been visited as investigation continues at the State Criminal Investigation Department.

The couple reportedly got married in December 2025 and had been married for about eight months before the incident.
