Senator Umeh Takes Agricultural Empowerment to Njikoka, Distributes 200 Bags of Fertiliser

ABAGANA — Senator Victor Umeh, representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, has taken his Agricultural Input Empowerment Programme to Njikoka Local Government Area, distributing 200 bags of 50kg fertiliser to farmers across the area.

The programme, held at Chime Hall, Abagana, on Wednesday, August 19, attracted farmers, community leaders and members of the National Democratic Congress, NDC.

Umeh said the initiative was designed to strengthen agricultural productivity and support farmers amid rising food costs.

He urged stakeholders to ensure equitable distribution of the fertiliser across the wards and use the inputs responsibly to achieve improved harvests.

The Senator also highlighted his representation initiatives, including the Anambra Central Scholarship Programme, which he said currently supports 332 students across 58 communities, with 31 beneficiaries from Njikoka.

He further listed infrastructure projects, skills development, agricultural training and food support among his interventions.

The event also featured political mobilisation, with Umeh expressing appreciation for support for Peter Obi and other NDC candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.

The agricultural empowerment programme has previously covered Awka North, Awka South, Dunukofia and Anaocha, with Idemili North and Idemili South expected to be next.
