15-Year Old Girl Alleges Repeated Sexual Abuse by Several Men in Anambra
A 15 year old girl from Igbo Ukwu, Anambra State, has alleged that she was sexually abused by several men, including individuals known to her family.
The girl (name withheld by this publisher) reportedly made the allegations after her elder brother reported the matter to the police and called for an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged abuse.
According to the girl, the abuse began while she was staying with a relative of her mother, where she alleged that a family acquaintance, identified as Ugochukwu Uba, took her to a bush under the pretext of fetching firewood and allegedly sexually assaulted her after threatening to kill her if she spoke about the incident.
She further alleged that Uba later brought another man who also assaulted her and warned her not to disclose what happened. She said the two men were later arrested after the matter was reported, but were subsequently released after the case was reportedly closed.
The girl also alleged that after moving to live with her father, some of his friends sexually abused her with his knowledge and encouragement, claiming that some of the men allegedly gave money to her father before approaching her.
She said the abuse continued at different locations, including her grandmother’s house, where she alleged that some men lured her with errands before assaulting her. She claimed that she knows the names and locations of some of the men and is willing to assist the police in identifying them.
Her elder brother, who reportedly became aware of the allegations, has called for the arrest and investigation of the men named by his sister, demanding justice and appropriate protection for the teenager.
