The Anambra State Commissioner for Information and Value Reorientation, Dr. Law Mefor, has called for stronger collaboration between the State Ministry of Information and Local Government Areas to support the actualisation of the transformative agenda of the Soludo administration.

Dr. Mefor made the call during a courtesy visit to the Mayor of Awka South Local Government Area, Prince Chinedu Okafor, at his office in Amawbia.

The Commissioner identified signage regulation, taxation, and sanitation as key areas requiring greater coordination among government agencies. He stressed the need to eliminate friction and promote synergy among institutions working towards the common goal of making Anambra a livable and prosperous homeland.

Dr. Mefor also called for the harmonisation of signage control, taxation, and sanitation enforcement, urging relevant agencies to carry out their duties with a human face, empathy, and fairness.

Responding, the Mayor of Awka South, Prince Chinedu Okafor, described the Ministry of Information as vital to effective governance, stressing that access to accurate information is essential for societal order.

He said Awka South was complying with government directives and disclosed that the council was working with the Anambra State Internal Revenue Service to address concerns over double taxation. He also called for increased public sensitisation on sanitation to improve compliance among residents.
