UNIZIK Opens 2026/2027 Post UTME, Direct Entry Screening, Warns Candidates Against Fraudsters

Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, has commenced registration for its 2026/2027 Post UTME and Direct Entry screening exercise, inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply while warning the public against unauthorised payments and admission fraud.
The announcement was contained in a notice signed by the Registrar, Dr Chinenye Gloria Okeke, and published on the University’s official platforms on July 27. The notice outlined the eligibility requirements, registration procedures and guidelines for prospective applicants.
According to the University, candidates who selected UNIZIK or any of its affiliate institutions as their first choice in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and scored a minimum of 160 are eligible to participate in the screening exercise.
The institution also stated that candidates who did not initially choose UNIZIK as their first choice but obtained at least 160 in the UTME may apply after completing a change of institution through any JAMB accredited Computer Based Test (CBT) Centre.
For Direct Entry admission, applicants must possess relevant qualifications such as the Ordinary National Diploma (OND), Higher National Diploma (HND), First Degree or Advanced Level (A Level) certificates. The University added that candidates are required to ensure their academic transcripts are forwarded to the institution to facilitate the admission process.
UNIZIK further directed all applicants to upload their O’Level results and, where applicable, A Level qualifications on the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) before admission processing.
Eligible candidates are expected to complete their registration through the University’s admission portal using their JAMB registration numbers and pay the prescribed non refundable screening fee of ₦2,000.
The University advised applicants to regularly check their registered phone numbers, email addresses and the official UNIZIK website for updates throughout the admission exercise.
Reaffirming its commitment to a transparent and merit based admission process, the University stressed that admission is not for sale and warned candidates against dealing with unauthorised individuals or groups claiming to offer admission assistance. It urged prospective students to make payments only through official channels and directed all enquiries to the University’s official email addresses.
