Troops Foils Terrorist Attacks in Sokoto, Kaduna, Rescue Kidnap Victim
Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have recorded fresh operational successes in Kaduna and Sokoto States, rescuing a kidnapped victim and foiling a terrorist attack.
In Kaduna State, troops of Sector 1 responded to a distress call on Thursday, August 20, following the abduction of a 43-year-old man around Awon Community in Kachia Local Government Area.

The troops pursued the terrorists into the surrounding bushes, forcing them to abandon their captive and flee. The rescued victim was subsequently reunited with his family.
In Sokoto State, troops of Sector 2, working with local security personnel, responded on Friday, August 21, to a terrorist attack on Kwaren Gamba Village in Sabon Birni LGA.

The troops engaged the attackers and forced them to withdraw in disarray. During the subsequent pursuit, one terrorist was neutralised, while troops recovered two mobile phones, cash, an ATM card, recharge cards and other items.
The Theatre Command said Operation FANSAN YAMMA remains committed to sustaining pressure on terrorist groups and denying them freedom of action across the North West.
The military also urged residents to remain vigilant and provide security agencies with timely and credible information to support ongoing operations.
