Peter Obi Urges Youths To Lead Nigeria’s Future At BIMUN 2026

The presidential candidate of the NDC in the January 16,2027 general elections, Peter Obi, has called on young Nigerians to actively participate in leadership and governance, stressing that the nation’s future depends on an empowered and responsible youth population.

Obi made the call while delivering the keynote address at the Babcock International Model United Nations (BIMUN 2026) held at Babcock University, Ogun State, under the theme Better Together: A Decade of BIMUN Advancing the United Nations Vision for Peace, Development, and Human Rights.

He said Nigeria must become a country where every citizen has equal opportunities to succeed, regardless of background, adding that the nation can only achieve lasting peace and development through merit, justice, strong institutions, and compassionate leadership.

The former Anambra governor urged young people to take greater interest in governance, human rights, nation-building, and the Sustainable Development Goals, noting that Africa’s youthful population is its greatest asset for driving sustainable development.

Obi expressed confidence that with the right leadership and active youth participation, Nigeria can build a peaceful, prosperous, and inclusive society that works for everyone.
