Joint Police Operation Arrests Seven Suspects, Recovers 285 Vandalized Pipes in Adamawa
The Nigeria Police Force has recorded another major breakthrough in the fight against economic sabotage with the arrest of seven suspected pipeline vandals and the recovery of 285 vandalized pipeline sections in Adamawa State.
According to a statement by the Force, the operation was carried out by the Adamawa State Police Command in collaboration with the Inspector General of Police Special Task Force on Petroleum and Illegal Bunkering.
Acting on credible intelligence, police operatives raided a suspected hideout in Kwarami, Mayo Belwa Local Government Area, where the seven suspects were arrested. During the operation, officers recovered 285 vandalized pipeline sections, six gas cylinders, shovels and other digging tools allegedly used to vandalize critical national infrastructure.
The Police said investigations are ongoing to identify and arrest other members of the syndicate who escaped during the operation. The arrested suspects remain in custody and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
The Nigeria Police Force reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the nation’s critical infrastructure and called on members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to support efforts to combat pipeline vandalism and other forms of economic sabotage.
