Woman Allegedly Sets Boyfriend’s Apartment Ablaze After Accusing Him of Cheating in Abuja
A young woman has allegedly set fire to her rented apartment in Kabusa Gardens Estate, Abuja, following an argument with her boyfriend over alleged infidelity.
The incident reportedly occurred over the weekend after the man returned home around midnight and was accused by his girlfriend of cheating on her with another woman.
The woman allegedly threatened him with a knife, forcing him to escape and lock her inside the apartment.
She reportedly dismantled the air conditioning unit, gathered the man’s belongings and set them on fire before allegedly pouring fuel around the apartment and setting the building ablaze.
Estate security personnel and residents reportedly mobilised quickly to put out the fire and prevent it from spreading to other parts of the property.
A resident who narrated the incident in a Facebook post said the couple had lived in the estate for about five months, adding that security personnel had intervened in another violent confrontation involving them the previous month.
