Police Arrest Four Over Alleged Plot to Kill Man, Take Over Property in Anambra

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested four suspects over an alleged plot to murder a citizen and unlawfully take over his landed properties in Ukwulu, Dunukofia Local Government Area.

The suspects, identified as Obiora Nwankwo, 38; Chiadikobi Okoye, 36; Emmanuel Mboko, 42; and Ifeanyi Obi, 37, were arrested on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, in collaboration with Agunechemba security personnel.

The Police said the suspects were arrested at different locations in Ukwulu and Amichi following credible intelligence on the alleged plot, while two firearms and live ammunition were also recovered during the operation.

According to the Command, preliminary investigation linked the suspects to the alleged plan, while further investigation is ongoing to determine their individual roles and identify other persons who may be connected to the plot.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, said the operation demonstrates the Command’s renewed intelligence led policing strategy aimed at detecting criminal threats early, preventing attacks and protecting lives and property.
