Troops Rescue 34 Kidnap Victims, Arrest Terror Suspects, Recover Arms in Nationwide Operations

Troops of the Nigerian Army have recorded major operational successes across different theatres of operation, rescuing 34 kidnapped victims, arresting suspected terrorist collaborators, and recovering weapons and ammunition during coordinated operations nationwide.
According to an operational report, troops of Operation HADIN KAI rescued 31 kidnapped passengers along the Buratai Kumuya Road in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State after detecting ISWAP and JAS terrorists abducting civilians from four vehicles through CCTV surveillance.
The troops swiftly deployed a Quick Reaction Force, engaged the terrorists in a gun battle and forced them to abandon the victims before fleeing the scene. One motorcycle was recovered during the operation.
In another operation in Mobbar Local Government Area of Borno State, troops of the 145 Battalion conducted a fighting patrol to the Turoh area, where terrorists fled on sighting the advancing soldiers, abandoning two motorcycles and quantities of illicit drugs.
Security operatives also arrested a suspected ISWAP informant at Garaha Market in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
In Zamfara State, troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA engaged terrorists moving with rustled cattle in Tsafe Local Government Area. The criminals reportedly fled after encountering superior military firepower.
In Kogi State, troops of Operation MESA rescued a woman and her two children who had been kidnapped along the old Obajana Jakura Tajimi Road in Lokoja Local Government Area. Investigations revealed the victims had been abducted from a settlement in the Gada Biyu area on July 29.
Meanwhile, troops of Operation UDO KA recorded a significant breakthrough in the South East with the arrest of three suspected terrorists linked to the May 4 ambush on military personnel in Imo State.
The operation, carried out in Delta and Imo states based on intelligence from previous arrests, led to the recovery of four AK 47 rifles, one FN rifle, a pistol, 13 magazines, 239 rounds of assorted ammunition, a fragmentation jacket and other military equipment.
Military authorities said some of the recovered weapons were those stolen during the attack on troops in May, while further exploitation uncovered another terrorist hideout containing additional arms and ammunition.
The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining intelligence driven operations aimed at dismantling criminal and terrorist networks, while urging members of the public to continue providing credible information to support ongoing security efforts across the country.
