Iyabo Ojo Explains Decision to Involve Ex Husband in Daughter’s Wedding

Iyabo Ojo has explained why she ensured her former husband, Ademidun Ojo, played a prominent role during the wedding of their daughter, Priscilla Ojo, despite their long standing separation.

Speaking during an appearance on The Morayo Show, the Nollywood actress said she deliberately chose not to allow her personal differences with her ex husband affect their daughter’s special day.

According to Ojo, she was determined to break unhealthy family patterns and ensure her children did not experience the same challenges she faced growing up in a broken home.

She said setting aside past grievances was part of the sacrifice she made to support her daughter’s happiness and the success of her marriage.

The actress stressed that her former husband remains Priscilla’s father and deserved to be present at one of the most important moments of her life, noting that their marital differences had nothing to do with their children.

Ojo also rejected claims that she is an overly strict mother, explaining that although she was firm while raising her children, they eventually came to understand the reasons behind her parenting approach.

Priscilla Ojo married Tanzanian singer Juma Jux in 2025 in a series of wedding ceremonies held in Nigeria and Tanzania, attracting widespread public attention. The couple later welcomed their first child in 2025.
