Police Arrest Four Young Suspects for Reckless Driving in Asaba

The Delta State Police Command has arrested four young men, aged 18, 19, 19 and 21, for allegedly engaging in reckless driving and over speeding in what appeared to be a car race within Asaba metropolis.

The command’s spokesperson, Edafe Bright, said the suspects were apprehended after they were seen driving dangerously on public roads, allegedly putting the lives of other road users at risk.

According to the police, preliminary investigations revealed that the four suspects are allegedly involved in internet fraud, popularly known as Yahoo Yahoo.

One of the suspects reportedly claimed they were on their way to buy food when they were stopped. However, the police maintained that their manner of driving suggested they were engaged in reckless driving and what appeared to be a street race through Asaba.

Reacting to the incident, Bright attributed the development to poor parenting, expressing concern that young people barely into adulthood are already involved in alleged criminal activities while endangering lives through dangerous driving.

The police spokesperson warned motorists against over speeding and reckless driving, stressing that anyone found violating traffic laws or engaging in acts that threaten public safety would be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
