Five Die In Horrific Road Crash On Badagry Expressway

Five persons have been killed in a head-on collision involving a Toyota Camry and an Iveco truck on the Badagry Expressway, Lagos.

The fatal crash occurred in the early hours of Saturday around Sawmill, near Mowo Bus Stop.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said its Dolphin Team responded to a distress call received at about 5:16 a.m.

Preliminary findings indicated that the Camry driver was allegedly speeding and driving recklessly before losing control, crossing into the opposite lane and colliding head-on with the oncoming truck.

All five adult male occupants of the Camry died in the crash.

Emergency responders, including LASEMA, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, LASTMA, FRSC and the Police, worked to recover the victims and clear the wreckage.

The road has since been cleared and reopened to traffic.

Authorities have again warned motorists against speeding, dangerous overtaking and other reckless driving practices, particularly during the early morning hours.
