ANSIEC Assures Readiness for Saturday’s Anambra Local Government Election

The Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) has assured residents of its readiness to conduct a free, fair and credible local government election scheduled for Saturday, August 29, 2026.

ANSIEC Commissioner One, Information and Publicity, Sir Chinedu Nnalue, gave the assurance while speaking on ABS Television programme, Good Morning Anambra, saying all personnel for the exercise had been trained and logistics arrangements concluded across the 21 local government areas.

Nnalue said the commission had also strengthened security arrangements in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to protect voters, electoral officials and election materials.

He disclosed that the election would be conducted through an open secret ballot system, urging eligible voters to come out, exercise their civic responsibility and protect their votes.

The Commissioner assured that electoral materials would be delivered to polling units on time, while calling on Ndi Anambra to remain peaceful and cooperate with electoral and security officials for a successful election.
