Anambra Begins Standardised Websites for MDAs to Strengthen Digital Governance

The Anambra State Information and Communication Technology Agency has commenced the development of standardised official websites for Ministries, Departments and Agencies as part of efforts to strengthen digital governance and improve public service delivery across the state.

The initiative is in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision of promoting technology driven governance and forms part of the state’s broader digital transformation agenda. It is also designed to ensure that government digital assets, including official websites, email systems, cloud services and e-government platforms, comply with approved ICT standards.

Under the programme, MDAs without official websites are expected to work with the ICT Agency by providing institutional information, including their mandates, leadership profiles, services and contact details, to facilitate the development of secure and functional online platforms that will improve access to government information and services.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Agency, Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata, said the initiative is aimed at establishing a reliable digital identity for government institutions while promoting improved information management, stronger cybersecurity, greater transparency and a more coordinated digital ecosystem across the state. He noted that the programme also supports the Agency’s roadmap towards becoming an AI First Native Agency.

The ICT Agency reaffirmed its commitment to working with all MDAs to ensure compliance with approved digital governance standards, urging institutions yet to establish official online platforms to take advantage of the support framework as the state advances towards a smarter, more efficient and citizen centred government.
