Bishop Ezeokafor Commissions Solar Power, Water Project, St. Anthony’s Grotto at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Nibo
It was a moment of thanksgiving, joy and renewed hope for parishioners of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Nibo, in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State, as the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Paulinus Chukwuemeka Ezeokafor, commissioned a solar power project, a potable water project, and the Grotto of St. Anthony of Padua in the parish.
The projects, which are expected to improve worship, enhance access to clean water and provide a serene environment for prayer and spiritual reflection, were dedicated to the glory of God amid jubilation by priests, religious and lay faithful.
Speaking during the commissioning, Bishop Ezeokafor described the projects as practical expressions of faith, urging Christians to continue investing in initiatives that uplift both the spiritual and physical well being of God’s people. He commended the parish priest, parish leaders and benefactors for their commitment to the growth of the Church and the welfare of the faithful.
The Bishop noted that the solar installation would provide reliable electricity for worship and parish activities, while the water project would serve both parishioners and members of the surrounding community. He also described the newly dedicated Grotto of St. Anthony of Padua as a place where the faithful can deepen their prayer life and seek God’s intervention through the intercession of the beloved saint.
Parishioners expressed gratitude to God for the successful completion of the projects, describing the event as a major milestone in the history of the parish. Many said the facilities would strengthen evangelisation, improve community service and inspire greater commitment to the mission of the Church.
The commissioning further reflects the Awka Diocese’s continued commitment to promoting integral human development by combining spiritual growth with projects that positively impact the daily lives of the faithful.
