Aiza’s Murder: Police Commissioner Holds Strategic Meeting, Vows To Arrest Killers

The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, has vowed to ensure that those responsible for the killing of Isaac Nwosu, popularly known as “Azia,” in Awka are identified and brought to justice.

CP Nnanna gave the assurance on Monday, August 31, 2026, after holding a two hour closed door strategic meeting with the Command’s operational and strategic officers to review security information and strengthen ongoing operations against violent crime, particularly in Awka and its environs.

Following the meeting, the Commissioner visited the family of the late Nwosu to offer his condolences. He described the deceased as an asset to Anambra State, noting that his contributions to the Command’s security advocacy initiatives and other community engagements would be greatly missed by his family, the Police Command and the state.

The Commissioner directed the relevant operational and investigative units to intensify efforts to identify and apprehend the perpetrators of the attack, assuring the bereaved family that the Police would pursue the investigation with determination and ensure that those responsible face the law.

CP Nnanna also appealed to Ndi Anambra to continue to trust and support the Police Command by providing credible information that could assist ongoing investigations. He assured residents that the Command remained committed to protecting lives and property and sustaining the fight against violent crime across the state.
