Troops Arrest Suspected Boko Haram Logistics Supplier in Borno

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested a 32 year old man suspected of supplying logistics to Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) during an intelligence led operation in Gubio Local Government Area of Borno State.

The suspect, identified as Modu Rayami, was apprehended on July 27 by troops of the 149 Battalion (Motorised), Gubio, in collaboration with the Hybrid Forces and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), following credible intelligence linking him to the supply of fuel and food items to terrorists operating along the Binduldul and Kareto corridor.

According to military sources, the suspect was arrested at Zowo village while allegedly transporting supplies believed to be meant for insurgents. Items recovered from him included five jerrycans of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), two jerrycans of palm oil, bags of salt, pepper, garri, flour and sugar, a sack of soft drinks, as well as a mobile phone.

The military further disclosed that during preliminary interrogation, the suspect allegedly confessed to supplying fuel and food items to Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters operating in the area. He is currently in military custody alongside the recovered items, pending further investigation and possible prosecution.

Military authorities said the operation was completed without incident and forms part of sustained intelligence driven efforts by Operation Hadin Kai to disrupt terrorist logistics networks, deny insurgents access to essential supplies and strengthen security across Nigeria’s North East.
