Wike Approves Promotion of 3,592 FCT Civil Servants

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has approved the promotion of 3,592 civil servants following the successful completion of the 2025 promotion exercise conducted by the FCT Civil Service Commission.

The Chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, Emeka Ezeh, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday. He said the approval forms part of activities marking the third anniversary of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and reflects the FCT Administration’s commitment to improving staff welfare and career development.

According to the commission, promotion examinations for senior officers were conducted between July 1 and 3, while junior officers sat for their examinations on July 10. Ezeh commended the minister for providing the necessary support that ensured the smooth conduct of the exercise.

He further revealed that the minister has directed the immediate commencement of the 2026 promotion exercise, stressing that eligible officers should be promoted as and when due. He noted that while the FCT Administration continues to deliver critical infrastructure projects across the territory, equal attention is being given to the welfare and professional advancement of civil servants.

Ezeh also praised FCT workers for their orderly conduct throughout the 2025 promotion exercise and appreciated the Joint Union Action Committee for its cooperation. He encouraged officers preparing for the 2026 exercise to begin early preparations, emphasizing that promotions in the FCT Civil Service are merit based, competitive and subject to the availability of vacancies.
