Amid Litigation Over 23rd May APGA Primary Elections, Anambra Assembly Aspirant For Njikoka 2 Constituency, Malachy Okafor, Alleges Threat To Life, Says Plotters Identified, Authorities Notified

Amid redress he is seeking in court following the conduct of the 23rd May All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) primary elections, the Anambra State House of Assembly aspirant for Njikoka 2 Constituency, Comrade Malachy Ezedinachi Okafor, has alleged threats to his life.

It was gathered from reliable sources that Okafor is challenging the declaration of the Member Representing Njikoka 2 Constituency and Deputy Majority Leader of the House, Dr. Jude Akpua, as the winner of the election.

A statement signed by his Management/Media Team and shared on his verified social media platforms, including Facebook, and WhatsApp groups, explained that the plotters have been identified, relevant authorities duly notified, and all available information provided “to assist with any necessary investigation”.

The statement reads:

“Our attention has been drawn to an alleged plot to assassinate our principal, former Anambra State House of Assembly aspirant, Comrade Malachy Ezedinachi Okafor (Mbazu Eji Egwu Ego N’Abba).

We consider any credible threat to his life a matter of serious concern.

We have reported the matter to the appropriate security authorities and provided all available information to assist with any necessary investigation.

We wish to inform the general public that those alleged to be involved have been identified and that the relevant authorities have been notified.

Should any attempt be made on his life, we expect a thorough investigation and that anyone found responsible will be brought to justice in accordance with the law.

We call on the public to remain calm, law-abiding, and vigilant while allowing the appropriate authorities to carry out their responsibilities.

We also urge the security agencies to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of Comrade Malachy Ezedinachi Okafor and to investigate any credible threats without delay.”
