Philanthropist, Ndubisi Empowers Anambra Women Farmers, Others

Women across the 21 Local Government Areas of Anambra State have received agricultural inputs, equipment and technical training under a statewide empowerment initiative sponsored by Chief Christopher Ndubisi, Chairman of Pinnatech Group.
The programme, held at the Prof. Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka, as part of the 2026 August Meeting activities, brought together women farmers, civil servants, and other women engaged in economic activities across the state.
Organised in partnership with the Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare and the Federal College of Agriculture, Ishiagu, Ebonyi State, the initiative combined practical agricultural training with the distribution of equipment and production inputs.
Beneficiaries received cassava stems, fertilisers, corn seedlings, wheelbarrows, grinding machines, motorcycles, trucks and other agricultural tools aimed at improving their productive capacity.
The programme also featured training on post-harvest management, equipping participants with knowledge to reduce agricultural losses, preserve farm produce and increase the economic value of their harvests.
Speaking at the event, the Anambra State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs. Chinyere Onyekesi, commended Chief Christopher Ndubisi for extending the empowerment programme to women across the state.
She said the initiative aligns with the ministry’s efforts to create sustainable economic opportunities for women and urged the beneficiaries to put the resources and knowledge provided to productive use.
The Commissioner also acknowledged the technical contribution of the Federal College of Agriculture, Ishiagu, and reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to supporting programmes that improve the livelihoods and economic independence of women.
For beneficiaries such as Amarachi Dennis and Francisca Meniru, the intervention represents more than the distribution of farm inputs.
They described the support as an opportunity to expand their agricultural activities, increase household income and become more economically self-reliant.
The beneficiaries also commended the Women Affairs Commissioner for her continued support for women and youth development across Anambra State.
With agriculture remaining a major source of livelihood for thousands of families, the initiative places women at the centre of efforts to strengthen food production, reduce post-harvest losses and build stronger household economies.
From cassava stems to motorcycles, from training to farming equipment, Ndubisi’s intervention is putting productive tools directly into the hands of women across Anambra.
