Chief Chukwuebuka Onuorah has secured a second term as President-General of Enugwu-Agidi Brotherly Union, polling 441 votes to defeat two other contestants in a fresh election held on Saturday, October 17, at the union’s secretariat.
His re-election followed a court-ordered rerun after Justice Etomike Ndigwe of the Anambra State High Court, Neni, sitting in Ogidi, nullified the previous town union election conducted on December 29, 2025, over its failure to comply with the community’s constitution. The court ordered a fresh election within 90 days.

In other contests, Nnamdi Anaemeze emerged Vice President-General with 420 votes, while Obiora Onwudi won Secretary-General with 495 votes. Chinemelum Okeke secured the position of Assistant Secretary with 562 votes.
Other winners included Chief Moses Nwuba, who polled 558 votes to emerge Assistant Secretary-General; Engr. Chibuike Umeano, who won Financial Secretary with 559 votes; and Ozo Chiedozie Igweonwu, who was elected Publicity Secretary, among other officers.
In his acceptance speech, Onuorah described his re-election as a sacred trust, pledging to serve with the fear of God and renewed commitment to the collective progress of Enugwu-Agidi.
He promised to prioritise infrastructure development, intensify human capital empowerment, promote peace and security, and revive the community’s cultural values as part of efforts to restore its pride.
The election was conducted by the Enugwu-Agidi Brotherly Union Electoral Commission, chaired by Mr Anthony Nwogbo, who announced the winners after hours of voting.
The exercise adopted an open-secret ballot system.
Onuorah’s second tenure comes with expectations that his administration will translate its promises into tangible development and strengthen unity within the community.
