Odumeje Warns Thieves Against Stealing Amid Economic Hardship
Popular Anambra based cleric, Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has warned people involved in stealing to repent and desist from criminal activities.
Odumeje gave the warning during a church service, saying the current economic hardship in the country had heightened frustration among Nigerians.
According to the cleric, suspected thieves risk facing severe punishment from angry members of the public if caught stealing, as many Nigerians may vent their frustrations on them.
He urged those involved in criminal activities to turn away from stealing and change their ways, warning that the consequences could be severe.
Odumeje also alleged that some suspected thieves had been subjected to harsh forms of mob punishment, including being forced to consume large quantities of pepper.
He therefore advised people involved in theft to repent and avoid criminal acts that could put their lives at risk, stressing that the present economic situation requires caution and responsible conduct.
