Nigerian Lady Alleges Former Roommate Faked Pregnancy, Collected ₦300,000 From Man

A Nigerian lady has sparked widespread reactions on social media after recounting how her former university roommate allegedly faked a pregnancy to obtain ₦300,000 from a man she was romantically involved with.

According to her account, the roommate asked her to purchase a pregnancy test strip from a pharmacy. She then allegedly used a red pen to draw two lines on the test strip, photographed it, and sent the image to the man, claiming she was pregnant and considering terminating the pregnancy.

The lady alleged that the man pleaded with her to keep the baby and immediately transferred ₦200,000 in support. She further claimed that they later requested an additional ₦100,000 for what they described as antenatal registration, which the man also sent.

According to the narrator, the roommate spent the money on a new phone, clothes, and hair, while the unsuspecting man had already begun making plans for the child, including choosing baby names. She said the roommate eventually blocked the man, not because the deception had been uncovered, but because she reportedly felt guilty and feared the consequences.

The unverified story has since gone viral online, triggering mixed reactions and renewed conversations about honesty in relationships, trust, and financial exploitation.
