Troops of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, have recorded major operational successes in Sector 4 of the theatre of operations in Adamawa State, neutralising terrorists and recovering arms and ammunition.
The operations, conducted between September 30 and October 1, 2026, involved coordinated ground and air operations, as well as defensive engagements against attempted attacks on military positions.
In the Boima general area of Gombi Local Government Area, troops reportedly ambushed a terrorist enclave, neutralising 16 terrorists.
Following the operation, troops recovered three AK 47 rifles, two pump action rifles, one Dane gun, six AK 47 magazines and a belt of pump action cartridges.
In a separate operation, the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI conducted a precision air strike after an Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance platform detected about 16 terrorists gathered with 15 motorcycles under a tree canopy.
The military said the target was struck at about 5:30 am on October 1 following positive identification, with subsequent battle damage assessment confirming the destruction of the target.
Meanwhile, terrorists launched coordinated attacks on military positions at 226 Battalion in Garkida and 232 Battalion in Garaha.
The troops reportedly repelled the attacks, forcing the assailants to withdraw. However, three soldiers were killed during the engagements, while wounded personnel were evacuated for medical treatment and are said to be in stable condition.
The military said follow up exploitation and mop up operations were ongoing across the affected areas.
The Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, Captain Mohammed Goni, said the Theatre Command remained committed to using intelligence, technology and joint capabilities to deny terrorists freedom of action across the North East.
He also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and provide timely and credible information to security agencies.
