Chemist Operator, One Other Arrested Over Alleged Illegal Termination of Woman’s Pregnancy in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two men over an alleged illegal termination of the pregnancy of a 22 year old woman in Ningi Local Government Area of the state.
The suspects, identified as Aminu Jibrin and 25 year old Salihu Moh’d, a chemist shop operator from Sabuwar Tiffi, were arrested following information received from a human rights activist in Ningi.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, the suspects allegedly conspired and administered substances to Hauwa’u Yakubu, a resident of AAY Quarters, Ningi, which allegedly resulted in the termination of her pregnancy.
SP Habib said operatives of Ningi Division arrested the two suspects on September 18, 2026, in connection with allegations of criminal conspiracy and causing the death of an unborn child.
The police said investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing, as authorities work to establish the full facts and determine appropriate legal action.
