NEMA Seals Collapsed Hostel in Amaokpala as Rescue Operations Continue

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has sealed the premises of the collapsed Elite Five Star Hostel in Amaokpala, Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The three storey hostel reportedly collapsed on Friday night, July 26, with an unspecified number of students of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, feared trapped beneath the rubble.

Rescue operations are ongoing as emergency responders search the debris and work to evacuate possible victims.

Personnel from relevant emergency and security agencies remain at the scene as efforts intensify to locate and rescue anyone trapped in the collapsed building.

The cause of the collapse has not yet been officially established, as authorities are expected to commence investigations into the incident.
