Kidnappers Raise Ransom For Jowizaza’s Father From ₦700m To ₦1.5Bn

Kidnappers holding the Chairman of Jezco Group, Chief Sir Joseph Ezeokafor, have reportedly increased their ransom demand from ₦700 million to ₦1.5 billion.

Ezeokafor, father of businessman Jowizaza, was reportedly abducted in the early hours of Tuesday, August 4, after leaving his residence for a prayer ground without his security personnel.

A source close to the family said the kidnappers initially demanded ₦700 million, which the family was reportedly willing to pay in an effort to secure his safe release.

However, the abductors allegedly later increased the demand to ₦1.5 billion and have since stopped communicating with the family, according to the source.

The communication breakdown has reportedly heightened concerns over Ezeokafor’s safety, as the family remains willing to negotiate and do whatever is necessary to secure his release.
