Oko Poly Debunks Alleged Midnight EFCC Raid on Students
The Management of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, has dismissed as false, malicious and mischievous reports alleging that operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, conducted a midnight raid on students of the institution.
The report, which circulated on social media, claimed that EFCC operatives allegedly climbed balconies to gain access to students’ rooms during the purported operation.
However, in a statement, the Polytechnic Management described the report as fabricated, baseless and completely devoid of factual foundation.
The institution also dismissed the image being circulated alongside the report, describing it as an AI generated and manipulated image with no connection whatsoever to the Federal Polytechnic, Oko.
According to the Polytechnic Authority, no EFCC raid on students took place, adding that no incident resembling the one described in the publication occurred within the institution.
Management expressed concern that some individuals could fabricate images and invent imaginary events in an attempt to mislead the public, create unnecessary controversy and damage the reputation of the institution.
The Federal Polytechnic, Oko, therefore urged members of the public to disregard the publication in its entirety and avoid sharing the unverified information.
The institution reaffirmed its commitment to truth, transparency and responsible communication, stressing that it would not allow the deliberate spread of false information to distract it from its developmental agenda.
