How Fire Service Helped Save The Day After Fuel Tanker Falls In Onitsha

A fuel tanker on Thursday fell at Upper Iweka in Onitsha, Anambra State, causing concern among motorists and residents, but no casualty was recorded.

The Anambra State Fire Service said it received a distress call about the incident at about 8:10 a.m. and immediately deployed firefighters to the scene to assess the situation and prevent further danger.

According to the Fire Service, preliminary findings indicated that the tanker fell after hitting a bad portion of the road.

Firefighters subsequently commenced salvage and withdrawal operations to remove the tanker and secure the area, successfully bringing the situation under control.

The agency later confirmed that no injury or death was recorded in the incident.

The Fire Service said it would continue to monitor the area and collaborate with relevant authorities to safeguard motorists and residents.

It also advised motorists and other road users to exercise caution when driving around Upper Iweka and other locations where poor road conditions could pose safety risks.
