FRSC Intensifies Ember Months Road Safety Campaign Across Anambra

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Anambra State Command has intensified road safety advocacy across markets, motor parks and communities as part of measures to reduce road crashes during the 2026 Ember Months.
Led by the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Bridget Asekhauno, the team visited Eke and Amawbia markets, engaging traders, transport operators, commercial drivers and other road users on speeding, dangerous overtaking, distracted driving, indiscriminate parking and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
At several motor parks, including Rivers Joy Park, Royal Mass, Star Sunny Park, Peace Park, Capital Motor Parks and Tracas, drivers were urged to ensure their vehicles are roadworthy before embarking on journeys, with emphasis on brakes, tyres, lights and other critical components.
The Sector Commander also took the road safety campaign to KPAKPANDO 101.9 FM, Mbaukwu, where she explained the functions of the FRSC and advised motorists to maintain lane discipline, avoid distractions and prioritise the safety of passengers and other road users.
The interactive radio programme featured questions from listeners, with the Sector Commander providing guidance on various road safety concerns.
The FRSC said it would continue stakeholder engagement and public enlightenment throughout the Ember Months in line with its mandate to reduce road crashes and save lives.
