Flavour Opens Up on Two-Year Battle With Pornography, Masturbation Addiction

By Chibuzo Obidike

Nigerian highlife singer, Flavour, has revealed that he battled pornography and masturbation addiction for more than two years after losing his virginity at the age of 24.

The music star made the disclosure during a recent TikTok live session, explaining that the struggle began after he lost contact with the woman he had his first sexual experience with. According to him, he repeatedly tried to reconnect with her through email but was unsuccessful.

Flavour said he later turned to pornography on the advice of a man in his neighbourhood, a decision he said resulted in compulsive masturbation that gradually affected his health, confidence and emotional wellbeing.

He disclosed that he sought spiritual help from his mother’s pastor through counselling, prayers and fasting, but admitted the addiction persisted despite those efforts.

The singer said he eventually confided in an older member of his music band, who guided him through the difficult period. Flavour noted that overcoming the addiction became a major turning point in his life and expressed hope that sharing his experience would encourage others struggling with similar challenges to seek appropriate help and support.
