Ayamelum Mayor Commissions Road, School, Council Projects
The Mayor of Ayamelum Local Government Area, Chief Alphonsus Ofumelu, has commissioned several infrastructure projects, including a 1.5 kilometre Omor Umuerum Road, a five classroom laboratory block at Community Secondary School, Igbakwu, a renovated local government administrative building, a new legislative building, solar powered street lights, a remodelled council entrance, and landscaped council headquarters.

Speaking during the commissioning, Chief Ofumelu thanked Chukwuma Soludo for supporting his administration and appreciated the people of Ayamelum for their cooperation. He said his administration remains committed to delivering projects that improve the lives of residents.

The mayor recalled that the Omor Umuerum Road was in a deplorable condition when he assumed office and said its completion fulfilled a promise made to the people.

A former Commissioner for Petroleum and Mineral Resources and former Chairman of Ayamelum Local Government Area, Barrister Anthony Ifeanya, commended the mayor for his infrastructure achievements, describing the administration as one of the most impactful in the council’s recent history.
The Deputy Mayor, Mrs. Felicia Mbanugo Oruia, and the All Progressives Grand Alliance candidate for the forthcoming Ayamelum Local Government election, Chief Emmanuel Mgbechi Igwebuike, also praised the mayor for his achievements in infrastructure and human capital development.

Students of Community Secondary School, Igbakwu, community members, councillors, party members, and council staff attended the commissioning ceremony and expressed appreciation for the projects.
