The Anambra State AIDS Control Agency, ANSACA, has taken free health screening, education and basic medical services to residents of Ekwulobia in Aguata Local Government Area.

The two day outreach, held on August 25 and 26 at the Cathedral Church of St. John’s Hall, Ekwulobia, was organised by Youths on Ground Progressive and Mentorship Initiative in collaboration with ANSACA and KNCV Nigeria.

Residents benefited from free screening for HIV, tuberculosis, malaria, typhoid, hepatitis B and C, as well as blood pressure checks. Those requiring attention also received health education, treatment and medications.

ANSACA commended Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo for supporting community based health interventions and creating an enabling environment for essential healthcare services to reach residents at the grassroots.

The agency said it remains committed to taking preventive healthcare, testing, early detection and appropriate linkage to care closer to Ndi Anambra through sustained community engagement.
