Aguata Youths Gain AI, Coding Skills in Rwanda Boot Camp, Mayor Ofobuike’s Initiative Draws Praise

A group of young innovators from Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State is making remarkable progress at the ongoing Pan African Boot Camp in Kigali, Rwanda, where they are receiving hands on training in Artificial Intelligence, coding and other emerging digital technologies.
The participants, known as the Aguata Champions, are attending the programme through the sponsorship of the Mayor of Aguata Local Government Area, Dr Chibueze Ofobuike, in what many have described as a bold investment in youth empowerment and future ready skills.
On Friday, the participants deepened their knowledge of Artificial Intelligence by learning the principles of prompt engineering, coding and digital problem solving, exposing them to technologies that are rapidly transforming education, business and the global workplace.
The training challenged the students to think creatively, analyse problems critically and harness AI tools to develop innovative solutions, equipping them with practical skills required to compete in today’s technology driven economy.
Speaking on the programme, members of the training team said the initiative is designed to prepare young people not only for future employment but also to become innovators, entrepreneurs and leaders capable of driving technological advancement across Africa.
Observers say the Rwanda boot camp reflects a growing commitment by the Aguata Local Government administration to invest in human capital development by exposing young people to global learning opportunities.
The initiative has continued to attract commendation from stakeholders, who described it as a strategic step toward building a generation of digitally skilled youths capable of competing on the international stage.
The Pan African Boot Camp continues in Kigali with participants expected to undergo more intensive sessions in technology, innovation and leadership before the programme concludes.
