The Mayor of Aguata Local Government Area, Dr. Chibueze Ofobuike, has hosted finalists of the Aguata Best Student Challenge from the 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 editions to a reunion luncheon aimed at strengthening their development and celebrating their achievements.
The finalists had previously participated in educational and exposure trips to Lagos, Accra, Cape Town and Kigali, respectively, as part of initiatives designed to broaden their horizons and expose them to opportunities beyond their immediate environment.
Dr. Ofobuike said his administration remained committed to nurturing young talents and supporting their personal and academic development beyond their participation in the competition.
The Vice Chancellor of Peter University, Achina/Onneh, Rev. Fr. (Prof.) Emmanuel Umezinwa, who addressed the students at the luncheon, encouraged them to uphold the values of excellence and remain committed to achieving their aspirations.
Speaking at the event, Ofobuike said the development of young people in Aguata remained a priority, noting that the future of the local government depended on identifying, nurturing and guiding promising talents.
The reunion brought together past finalists to reconnect, reflect on their experiences and renew their commitment to personal growth and community development.
