Anambra Issues Flood Alert, Urges Residents To Stay Vigilant

The Anambra State Government has issued a flood alert to residents following a forecast by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NiMet, which identified the state among areas likely to experience above normal flooding this year.

The government urged residents to take the warning seriously and exercise caution, particularly those living or doing business in flood prone communities.

Residents have also been advised to avoid unnecessary movement during heavy rainfall, stay away from dangerous floodwaters and consider relocating from highly vulnerable areas where necessary.

The government said proactive measures are being taken to reduce the impact of flooding and protect lives and property across the state.

It also appealed to residents to cooperate with relevant authorities and promptly seek assistance whenever emergencies arise.
