Market Leader, Jude Nwankwo Honoured As Ochudo Ukwulu As Igwe Uyanwa Marks 10th Coronation

The President General of Building Materials International Market, Ogidi, Chief Jude Nwankwo, has been honoured with the prestigious chieftaincy title of Ochudo Ukwulu Kingdom, as the traditional ruler of Ukwulu, Igwe Peter Uyanwa, marked his 10th coronation anniversary.

The honour, according to Igwe Uyanwa, was in recognition of Chief Nwankwo’s commitment to peace, community development and humanitarian service, as well as the impact of Building Materials International Market on Ukwulu. He said the market’s presence and investment had contributed to the transformation of the community, which he described as one of the fast developing communities in Anambra State.

The Traditional Ruler of Umuawulu, Igwe Joel Egwuonwu, described Chief Nwankwo as a priceless son of Umuawulu whose charity and development efforts extend beyond his hometown. Businessman and philanthropist, Chief Azubuike Ekweozor, also said the new title reflected the strong relationship between Chief Nwankwo and the people of Ukwulu, while the Women Wing of the market, led by Mrs Ify Ngosinwa, described him as a leader with an open heart and uncommon love for people regardless of their social status.

Receiving the title, Chief Nwankwo said he accepted the honour because of the peaceful nature of Ukwulu and the cordial relationship between the community and Building Materials International Market. He described the relationship as that of “husband and wife,” recalling that the people of Ukwulu gave land to the market peacefully and continued to support its development.

Chief Nwankwo said the investment had contributed to improved infrastructure and security around the area, making previously difficult routes more accessible and safer for residents and investors. He described Ukwulu as a good destination for investment and encouraged prospective investors to consider the community.

The Trustees, Patrons, Executives, Women Wing and entire members of Building Materials International Market, Ogidi, also congratulated the people of Ukwulu Kingdom on Igwe Uyanwa’s 10th coronation anniversary and the New Yam Festival, celebrating a decade of traditional leadership, unity, culture and community development.
