Operation Fansan Yamma Arrests Terrorist Kingpin, Intercepts 300 Rounds of Ammunition in Kaduna

Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have arrested a suspected terrorist kingpin, intercepted an ammunition courier with 300 rounds and apprehended an alleged terrorist logistics supplier in separate operations across Kaduna State.
The operations were conducted on September 9, 2026, as troops intensified efforts to disrupt terrorist networks and prevent the movement of arms, ammunition and other supplies.
In Kubau Local Government Area, troops of Sector 1 conducted a clearance operation at Dabar Dabo, identified as a known terrorist hideout, where they arrested a suspected kingpin and two other members of his syndicate.
The suspects are currently in military custody for further investigation.
In a separate operation in Igabi Local Government Area, troops acting on credible intelligence intercepted a 50 year old woman allegedly transporting ammunition.
The suspect was reportedly found with 300 rounds of ammunition concealed in a bag. Preliminary investigation indicated that she had travelled from Zamfara State to Lafia, where she allegedly received the ammunition for onward delivery to terrorists in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State.
Later the same day, troops in collaboration with a community vigilante group arrested another suspected terrorist logistics supplier in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.
Four communication devices suspected to have been used by terrorists were recovered from the suspect during interrogation and a subsequent search.
The Joint Task Force said the operations demonstrate the continued commitment of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to dismantling terrorist networks, restricting their freedom of action and disrupting the movement of arms, ammunition and logistics across the Joint Operations Area.
The JTF commended members of the public for their support and urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest security agency.
