Baby Rescued from Lagos Junkyard During Environmental Cleanup
Operatives of the Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC), popularly known as KAI, have rescued a baby from a junkyard at Alakija along the Lagos Badagry Expressway.
The child was discovered on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, during an ongoing multi agency cleanup operation along the busy expressway corridor.
The circumstances surrounding how the baby ended up at the junkyard were not immediately clear as authorities are expected to commence further investigation.
The rescue has raised concerns over the safety and welfare of children, while the authorities are expected to establish how the infant was abandoned and identify those responsible.
