NDLEA Arrests ‘KC Luxury’ as 184.5kg Cocaine Cartel Uncovered
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a suspected drug kingpin and social media influencer, Afolabi Kazeem Michael, popularly known as “KC Luxury,” as part of a major operation targeting an international cocaine trafficking network.
The NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), disclosed this in Lagos on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, while briefing journalists on the operation.
Marwa said the investigation followed the interception of 184.5 kilogrammes of cocaine concealed in a consignment destined for export through a courier logistics company in Lagos.
He said the seizure, which the cartel reportedly hoped to sell for about N39 billion through its international distribution network, prompted the formation of a Special Investigation Team to uncover the syndicate behind the shipment.
According to him, NDLEA investigators, working with the management of the courier company, traced the shipment through several intermediary companies and individuals and arrested key suspects.
One of those arrested was Lawal Mujab Kehinde, a staff member of the logistics company allegedly used by the cartel to process and route cocaine consignments to the United Kingdom, Europe and Asia.
Marwa said investigators established that Kehinde maintained a direct relationship with the cartel’s Nigerian coordinator and was paid in cash for processing the consignments.
The NDLEA boss identified the second major suspect as Afolabi Kazeem Michael, popularly known as KC Luxury, whom investigators allegedly identified as the Nigerian coordinator of the cartel.
Marwa said the suspect allegedly used his public profile as a social media influencer and luxury goods dealer in gold and jewellery to conceal his involvement in cocaine trafficking.
He said the investigation uncovered a cocaine trafficking pipeline allegedly stretching from South America through Nigeria to the United Kingdom, Europe and Asia.
The NDLEA said investigations are ongoing to identify other members of the network and dismantle the wider international cartel.
