EFCC Arraigns Man Over Alleged ₦19m Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arraigned Sadi Babale before the Borno State High Court in Maiduguri over alleged criminal misappropriation of ₦19 million.

Babale was arraigned on Monday before Justice Aisha Kumaliya on a one count charge. The EFCC alleged that he dishonestly converted money belonging to one Alhaji Tijjani Mohammed for personal use.

The money was reportedly paid to the defendant for the purchase of four plots of land, which the petitioner later discovered were allegedly not genuine.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Justice Kumaliya ordered his remand at the Maiduguri Maximum Correctional Facility and adjourned the case to July 28, 2026, for hearing of his bail application.
