83 Youths, Women Empowered with Vocational Skills and Starter Packs in Eziowelle

No fewer than 83 women and youths have graduated from a Skills Acquisition and Empowerment Programme organised by the Ifediche Foundation for Women and Youth Empowerment in partnership with the Eziowelle Improvement Union, in a bid to promote self reliance, entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods.
The beneficiaries successfully completed intensive vocational training in different trades and were presented with starter packs and work tools to enable them establish their own businesses. The empowerment items included industrial sewing machines, solar installation equipment, beauty kits, professional toolboxes, woodworking tools and aluminium fabrication machines, among others.
Representing the Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Development, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Development and Sports, Mr. Emeka Omatah, commended the initiative, describing it as a practical intervention that aligns with the state government’s commitment to youth empowerment, job creation and entrepreneurship. He reaffirmed the government’s willingness to partner with organisations and communities that invest in human capital development.
Founder of the initiative, Mrs. Ify Omeludike, who was represented by her mother, Lady Grace Amobi, said the programme was designed to equip women and youths with practical skills that would enable them become self reliant, reduce poverty and contribute meaningfully to the economic growth of their families and communities.
Speaking during the ceremony, the President General of the Eziowelle Improvement Union, Dr. Julian Obiora, praised Mrs. Omeludike for her unwavering commitment to community development, describing the empowerment programme as a remarkable investment in the future of Eziowelle. The Chairman of the occasion, Chief Ugochukwu Ezeude, also expressed appreciation to the benefactress and prayed for greater success in her humanitarian efforts.
The Secretary of the Foundation, Mrs. Esther Ifeorah, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to promoting entrepreneurship through vocational education, while community leaders, including Chief Laz Okafor and Chief Emeka Okoyeozor, commended the initiative, noting that it would positively impact many families and contribute to the overall development of the community.
